Where To Sleep In Sorrento
Personally, I stayed at Sweet Home, it is a B&B very well located, the city center is a 10-minute walk away, with a very beautiful garden. The price of the rooms is around 140€. On the other hand, the mediocre breakfast, the pastries have the appearance and texture of pastries cooked the day before.
getting to Sorrento
If you arrive by train, the train station is 10 min walk from the main hotels, but with luggage maybe the bus is the best option, you will find the bus stop just outside the train station is the cheapest option, otherwise you have the taxi but it is expensive at around 15€ for a little over 500 M.

Capri
The only means of transport to get to Capri from Sorrento is by boat, for this you have to go to the port of Sorrento. If you take the stairs it takes 5 min you have to go to piazza Tasso, the stairs are just below the flag. Another option you can walk towards the communal villa of the public garden and you take the elevator which will cost you the modest sum of 1€ and walk towards the port for 5 min. The third option is to take bus B from piazza center, north entrance San Antonio, buy the ticket at the tobacconist specify that you are going to the port it will cost you 1.20€, the frequency of the buses is almost every 20 min.
To be sure to enjoy the whole day in Capri, it is recommended to buy the ticket very early around 8 a.m. for the 8:50 a.m. departure because there are a lot of people. Check the return times carefully because in general the last boat is between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
There are 3 types of ticket departing from Sorrento.
Option 1
There is no possibility to go around the island, with the visit of the blue cave, in total the trip lasts 1h30 to 2h and this for 30€ one way, but you are not sure to visit the cave it all depends on how many people there are.
Option 2
Take a ticket just to visit the Blue Grotto which lasts 1 hour, the Blue Grotto is a world attraction expect to see a lot of people there can be up to 3000 people a day, the best time to visit is early in the morning, the light is at its best. In case of big waves or too high tide it is not possible to visit the cave.
Option 3
This 3th option is the most expensive because the trip costs 20€ you have to buy a ticket 30€ for the visit of the blue cave plus 20€ for the return it’s been a day starting at 70€.
In Capri there are 2 cities to visit the first is Capri center and the second is Anacapri, personally I only had time to visit Capri center.
To go up to Capri center, take the funicular 2€. If you have time there are buses but the journey is much longer.
Capri is a beautiful little village with lots of shops for tourists, the main square is piazza Umberto I, dedicated to the second king of Italy.
Capri center is almost completely pedestrianized and the only vehicles are service vehicles and electric buses, you can also see some scooters.
As it is a global tourist destination, expect high prices. For example if you take a coffee outside the square it will cost you 1€ and if you take it on the piazza you can pay up to 5€. See also the hotel Quisisna the oldest hotel on the island which in the 19th century was a Sanatorium, when you look at the hotel, take the street on your left and you will discover shops and luxury villas with a beautiful view and very beautiful gardens.
