MURANO

These 2 islands are east of Venice, you can visit them on the same day, but you can also do it on 2 different days if you have time.

The island of Murano is famous for its glassworks, if you like working with glass, this is not to be missed.

Of course, on the island of Murano you will therefore find shops where you can buy blown glass objects, but there is also a museum, glassblower workshops that you can visit and even attend at a demonstration, you do not have to make any purchases to attend the demonstrations.

It is very nice to walk through the streets of Murano especially in fundamental dei Vetrai, (it is the pier of the glass workers). 

The Murano Glass Museum is very interesting, it tells the story of the last 500 years of glassmakers in Venice, the entrance is 10€ and the museum is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., from November to March until at 5 p.m. only, be careful, we only let you in until 1 a.m. before closing.

 To get to the island of Murano the price of the vaporetto ticket costs €7.50 and is only valid for 75 min, if you want to visit several islands such as Burano, it is more advantageous to take a pass, the different passes cost €40 for 72 hours, €30 for 48 hours, and €20 for 24 hours.

You have to go to the Fondamente Nove pier in the North East of the island of Venice, line 4.1 and line 4. 2 converge towards the islands, their frequencies are every 10 min, the first stop is SAN MICHELE then Murano Colona about 10 minutes from Venice.

After visiting Murano, look for the Murano Faro pier which will take you to Burano, the journey takes between 30 to 40 min.

Burano

Is very famous for its lace, even if you are not very attracted by lace, the visit of the island is worth the detour would be only for the pastel colors of the facade of the houses, in the south of the There is a very quiet little park where you can have a picnic if you wish or stroll through the streets of Burano is also very pleasant.
