The village of Steveston is located south of Vancouver and southwest of Richmond which is populated mainly by Asians, richmond is a bit like the new Chinese village.

Steveston a small fishing port where you can buy fresh fish straight from the boat, prawns, salmon, local albacore tuna and more.

Salmon and tuna are always frozen, it’s local law, the fish is frozen at sea very quickly at -40 in less than hour on the boat to keep a very high taste quality. Once properly thawed it is not possible to see the difference during consumption.

Steveston is definitely worth a visit, there are restaurants, a few souvenir shops.

The village of Steveston is a very nice place, there is also a nice walk on the dyke trail to the west near Garry point park and another walk to the south of the village on the left when you look at the sea, the walk can last several hours, do not forget to stop at the London farm where for tea lovers you can enjoy an afternoon tea, you can also walk in the gardens of the farm.

If you like fish and chips there is the famous restaurant Pajo’s on the barge, always crowded, but there is also a very good fish and chips at the restaurant sockeye city grill.

There is enough to do to spend the day there. If you don’t have a car you can use public transportation which is very well organized in Vancouver. You can take the Canada Line in Vancouver to Brighouse (Richmond) and then take the 401 bus on Westminster highway at the corner of 3 and cambie for Stevenston, it takes 20 to 30 minutes to travel from Brighouse.
