Wuzhen is about 140km southwest of Shanghai, on the way to HANGZHOU. I recommend stopping in this typical little village.

Wuzhen is a village with a history of more than 1300 years, very interesting to see, built on the water, it is a bit like the Venice of the Shanghai region.

In 1998 the government of Wuzhen decided to embark on a plan to preserve the village. Very well preserved the village has become a tourist attraction.

The village gives an insight into the way of life of the people of the time.

There are several interesting things, such as the constructions, the equipment of the firefighters of the time, the dyeing and not forgetting a short stroll on the canals.

The easiest way to get there is to go to a travel agency in Shanghai and buy a ticket including the bus and the visit, going and returning during the day. Otherwise you can take a long bus from Shanghai but you will have to pay the entrance for the visit.
