Saturna Island is accessible by ferry from the Tswawwassen terminal in Vancouver and from Victoria on Vancouver Island.

It takes about 2h30 from Vancouver, but there is a stop or 1 transfer to Galiano Island or Mayne Island depending on the time you leave, however if you leave from Victoria (swartz bay) it’s direct and it can take 1h to 1h30 min.

This is the website link of the ferry company. www.bcferries.com

When you arrive at Saturna Island just at the exit of the ferry on the right there is a pub (lighthouse pub), I recommend that you stop there for lunch or dinner depending on the time you   arrive, because there are very few restaurants on the island and the food is good there.

There is a campsite on the left just after the petrol station, with a shower that works with tokens that you have to buy at the pub mentioned above, the showers are very clean, but the tent pitches are a bit too close to each other, there are also luxury tents and under construction there are also cabins.

I stayed in one of these very comfortable luxury tents, the only small problem is in the morning with the seaplanes, because both takeoff and landing are quite noisy. but it’s not very serious.

there are very few shops on the island, as it is a small island the hours are very restricted, so I advise you to check them out and stock up on food and drink from day one if you plan to stay a few days on the island.

At the Saturna general store you can find basic necessities and there is even a restaurant corner, again pay attention to the opening hours.

A little anecdote there is a wild turkey that roams around the store, be careful, apparently she never in good mood.

The best way to visit the island is still by car, it’s very simple there are only 2 roads, or for sports enthusiasts by bike, when I went there I met someone one who toured the islands by bike.

At Taylor point in the south of the island if you are patient enough you will be able to see porpoises swimming offshore, it is a very famous place for this spectacle, if you have binoculars, it’s time to watch them use.

I added the map of the island below.

given the location of the island in the gulf, the coasts are constantly exposed to bad weather, so the rocks have become real works of art over time.
